General Contest Rules

Participant Information:

1. Must be from San Diego or Tijuana

2. Must be 16 years of age or older

3. Must be able to share examples of previous design work (e.g., a digital portfolio or social media). This work may be professional, academic, or personal—we’re simply looking to see prior design experience in any context.

All work must be submitted in an editable, digital file. We will not consider work submitted by way of screenshots or other photos. We will only consider work that includes:

· The show title: Macbeth

· Family-friendly content (no weapons, overly scary or violent imagery)

· Universal themes (avoid setting your work in a specific era or location)

· Must be submitted by May 29th

Award Details:

Once selected, we will require that the winner is willing and available for 1-2 rounds of notes and edits with the production's creative team. The winner will be selected by June 29, 2026 and will receive a stipend of $1,000 in 1 payment at the end of the design process. The winner will be featured on The Old Globe’s website and in the GFA program and will therefore be asked to share a headshot and bio for general marketing purposes.*

All participants will receive TWO comp tickets to see either our production of Measure for Measure or Much Ado About Nothing.
